Tips for buying accelerometer

1, sensitivity Generally speaking, the more sensitive it is, the better it will be. The more sensitive the pressure sensor is, the more sensitive it can perceive the change of accelerator at a given range, the bigger the change of output voltage is, in that way, it can be easier for measuring, and we can get more accurate measurement value. 2, the number of measurement axis For the majority of projects, accelerometer which has two axis is enough for measuring, for some special application, such as UAV, ROV control, accelerometer which has three axis would be better. 3, the digital output and the analog output This is which we should consider first, and this depends on the interface between system and accelerometer, generally, the voltage and accelerator of analog output is proportional. For example, when the output voltage is 2.5V, the accelerator will be 0g. 4, the maximum measurement value If you want to measure the angle of robot upon ground, in that way, a accelerometer whose measurement value is about 1.5g will be enough. If your robot has the situation of starting or stopping immediately, you should buy a position sensor whose measurement will be ±5g. 5, bandwidth The bandwidth which we are talking about here indicates the frequency range of refreshment, that means that how many time the accelerometer counts per second. 6, resistor and cache For some micro controller, if you want conduct A\D, the resistor of accelerometer should be less than 10 K, so before buying the sensor, we should read the manual carefully, to ensure the sensor can work properly.
